What we did:
Convert Sharpness STW into a facility that can import commercial sludge.
This involved the construction of:
- A sludge tanker import bay with a data logger unit
- Two screens located within an extensively modified inlet channel
- Macerator and licep screenings handling plant
- A motor control centre for the inlet works
- A reinforced concrete conical pre thickening sludge tank
- Modifications to existing holding tanks
- A drum thickener with liquid polymer plant and motor control centre housed inside a large purpose built GRP kiosk.
- Two pumping stations to accommodate site drainage and wash water systems
- Numerous drainage runs, above and below ground ductile iron pipe work, ducting and pumping mains.
- Access track improvements with entrance splay, passing bays, cattle grids, fencing and headwalls.
