What we did:
This contract is for the refurbishment of 26 filter cells. Sounds easy in its self, but in reality meant shifting some 240 c/m of live media from each cell by means of a Hyper Vactor unit and a series of pumps, the replacement of 117 Thousand effluent diffusers, 94 Thousand air diffusers together with 14 kilometres of pipe work.
All this whilst maintaining the integrity of the works, keeping the media alive and completing the whole project within the 58week duration.
This was achieved by developing a swift onsite assembly system to ensure all pipe work was prepared in advance and ready to install, together with the coordination of the complex pumping arrangements ensured continual pumping was achieved with minimal downtime.
