What we did:
Maundown Water Treatment Works is one of Wessex Water’s most Prestigious sites for the provision of drinking water from Wimbleball Reservoir.
The site currently has 16 rapid gravity sand filters and has been manually operated for several years.
- Removal and replacement of sand filters.
- Refurbishment of all valves.
- Installation of all electrical wiring, new control system
- Installation of new valves and actuators
- Refurbishment and installation of new Penstocks.
- Construction of new sludge holding tank complete with new pumping equipment and control system.
- Supply and installation of new access steelworks and site lighting.
- Each newly refurbished filter was commissioned as we brought it back on line and at the end of the contract the total of 16 filters were commissioned in line with the water quality commissioning plan.
- Existing marble floors were carefully protected throughout the works.
Damar Group were awarded excellent commendations whilst completing these works.
The site was protected by a total cover on all floors to protect the surface of marble floor.
